Install HISAB and sign in — you get every feature free for 15 days, plus 50 HISAB AI credits to try the built-in AI, no credit card needed. The trial is available once per machine. When it ends you pick a door: buy the Perpetual license or subscribe to a HISAB AI plan. You keep all your skills, chat history, and audit logs.
They're the same product — the only difference is who provides the AI. Own AI is for people who already have (or want) their own Anthropic or OpenAI account: you sign into it inside the add-in and your AI usage is billed by them at their rates. Pay $7/month (or $60/year), or buy the Perpetual license once for $199 and never pay HISAB again. HISAB AI ($10 or $20/month) is zero setup: the AI is built in and metered in credits — nothing else to sign up for. Every plan includes every feature, including full ERP read and write-back.
1 credit = 1¢ of AI usage — credits meter the raw AI cost with no markup games. A typical question on the everyday models is about 2 credits, so Basic's 500 credits ≈ 250 questions a month and Plus's 1,200 ≈ 600. Heavier reasoning models burn faster; you choose the model per conversation.
Monthly plan credits reset each billing cycle — they don't roll over. Top-up packs never expire: they sit in a separate bucket and are only spent after your monthly allowance is used up.
The AI pauses until your next monthly reset — or you grab a top-up pack (200 credits for $4.99, 600 for $12.99) and keep going immediately. Everything else in HISAB — Excel tools, ERP connections, Python, automations — keeps working; only the AI chat needs credits.
The built-in AI pauses, and any unused top-up credits are frozen, not lost — they're waiting when you resubscribe. Your offline features keep working, and your data, skills and logs stay on your machine. Resubscribe (or switch to Perpetual with your own AI account) and you pick up where you left off.
Inside the add-in you sign in with your own Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI account — a subscription plan or an API key, your choice. Your AI usage is billed to you by them at their rates; HISAB adds no markup and never sees your credentials. It's the most private option: your prompts run on your own account. One license covers one user.
Annual HISAB AI plans are 20% off — Basic is $96/year and Plus is $192/year. Toggle to "Annual" above to see the yearly price. You can switch between monthly and annual anytime. The Perpetual license is a one-time purchase, so there's nothing to save on — you already own it.
Checkout is handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. They securely take card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, handle global tax, and issue your invoice — we never see your card number. Prices are in USD; any VAT / GST is added automatically based on your billing country.
Yes — anytime, from the billing portal in your Paddle receipt or by emailing us. Your plan stays active through the end of the current billing period, then simply stops renewing. No long-term contract. The Perpetual license never needs cancelling — it's yours.
Your workbook stays on your machine — HISAB never uploads your sheets. The only thing sent to the AI is the specific context you ask about (sheet names, ranges, sample rows). Configurations, audit logs, and skill code live in %APPDATA%\HISAB on your device. See the security page for details.
