This is the part credit-metered add-ins simply cannot match. A flat AI subscription — Claude Pro or Max, or ChatGPT Plus / Pro — includes a big monthly message allowance, so you can run analysis, build models and write macros all day for one predictable fee, instead of watching a credit balance drain or stopping to top up. Credit-metered tools like ExcelMaster and Numerous ration AI with credits or message counts; per-seat assistants like Copilot charge a flat fee whether you use AI once or all day. With HISAB 360 your own subscription does the heavy lifting and HISAB never charges a markup on top of it.
When you install HISAB 360, a local MCP server runs on your machine and bridges Excel to the AI command-line tool you connect — Anthropic Claude Code or OpenAI Codex. Node.js is bundled, so there is nothing extra to install. A chat panel docks beside your sheet; you type or speak a request, and the AI drives 72+ Excel tools to do the work. Because the bridge talks to your own subscription or key, your credentials stay on your device and the bill goes to your account, not ours.
Bring-your-own-AI also means bring-your-own-privacy. HISAB 360 is local-first: your workbook data stays on your computer. Only sheet names, ranges, headers and a few sample rows are sent to the AI so it understands the structure — the full dataset is never uploaded. ERP credentials are encrypted with Windows DPAPI and are never sent to the AI at all. You decide what leaves the machine.
Cost control is one thing; change control is another. HISAB 360 runs in operating modes — Ask-only, Plan, Action or Automate — with approvals set to Auto or Ask-each, and every edit is written to an audit log with rollback plus an automatic backup before operations. The same connection powers the full add-in: read and write cells, build formulas, charts, pivots and conditional formatting; author, lint, sandbox-test and run VBA; run sandboxed Python 3.11 (pandas, numpy, plotly) locally; and stage ERP write-back to Xero, QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books, Odoo and more.
